Beautiful little speaker. Build quality is A++, it’s this beautiful soft touch plastic that’s almost rubbery but looks and feels really good. I’m no audiophile but to my ears this little thing sounds phenomenal, more than good enough for music, podcasts, movies, and calls. This is not a party speaker, and the JBL ones get louder- but I tested them both in the shop and this one didn’t sound worse per say than bigger speakers, just smaller with a more compact sound. I got it for personal use- after owning a 2019 16′ MacBook Pro and moving to a 13′ MacBook Air, I was spoiled for sound. I mainly picked this over the more expensive JBL and Bose models because its battery life is rated at 16 hours (the other two had 12), and it’s smaller and more compact (and cheaper to boot!) This thing is attractive, rugged, sounds good and is a total breeze to pair and switch between devices. Call quality is good, too. Packaging was eco friendly, too. Overall, really pleased with this speaker. The cloth loop it comes with can attach at either the top or the bottom edge of the speaker, meaning you can hang it from a hook in the bathroom and shower with your favourite music firing down at you!If you’re looking for a compact, high quality speaker for personal use, this is brilliant, and great value.

Have to write this review and cover 2 important aspects i.e 1 for the Product & 2 for Amazon. The product first :Seems to be a mixed review for me but then I realized that we need to be decisive about what we want.Pros:1. Is very portable2. Sound quality is very good. The bass is excellent and there is no distortion even in highest volume.3. Excellent for indoor use like online classes, webinars and listening to songs.4. Contains Mic so it is very helpful to talk on calls.5. The battery life is excellent.6. Type C cable is a great part since we all have the same technology with our phones these days.Cons:1. The charging cable is terribly short.2. Totally dissatisfied by Bluetooth connectivity. Needs to be placed near the original sound source. The farther you go the more breakage in sound can be heard. Totally fails on its claim for 10 mtr. Bluetooth connectivity.3. Even on the highest volume the sound seems to be a bit low. I compared it on online with its competitors like JBL clip 4 and JBL go3 and soundwise JBL was much better, had decent Bass too. But again every product has its own pros and cons.4. This one is not a flaw actually but this is how I figured out the exact usage of this product. Can’t be used outdoors and I can’t expect loud music. Won’t work for house parties too since we Indians are already loud enough and this speaker won’t stand to our volume levels.Overall product wise I would suggest that you buy it only for usage indoors and decent and crisp sound. For better and larger sound go for an upgrade to a bigger device. It is needless to mention the second part of the review about Amazon.1. Ordered it in the afternoon and received it in the evening same day. So kudos to Amazon for that.2. It just has a replace option & no option for refund. But when I expressed the dissatisfaction for the product to Amazon, the customer support team also gave me an option for refund if required.Once again Amazon justifies it’s service quality. So a big thank you.PS: The video in the review is with my mobile phone being 10 feet away and in video the volume is decreased by 50% of the original volume.

REVIEW AFTER TWO WEEKS’ USESony caught thunder in a cup and called it SRS XB-100. This speaker is pretty loud and clear for its size, purpose and price. It is strictly meant for personal use or a small gathering of 6-8 people at best. Yet this little coffee mug outsmarts every other speaker below 5000 Rs.(Note – this speaker is not loud enough for a party. Those who feel that it is not loud enough for personal use may get an audiological evaluation to see if you have noise-induced hearing loss. Since hearing loss from loud noise (above 70 dB / 70% volume) is irreversible, try to reduce the loudness you listen to and follow 60:60 rule.)AUDIO QUALITYVocals are loud, crisp and clear. Bass is good but not over-the-top. Good treble. From my experience, I would rate SRS XB-100 for various purposes as below.Playing music files = 10/10Playing podcasts = 8/10Call quality = 8/10Playing YouTube videos = 7/10Playing Movies & Series = 7/10Generally, 50%-60% volume was sufficient for audio files to be clear and loud enough. Podcasts needed around 70%. YouTube videos, Movies & Series needed 70%-100% and they largely depended on the quality of file as well. Some old BBC documentaries and series played as clear as any music file at 60% volume whereas Avatar, LOTR series and Spiderman needed at least 80% volume.PORTABILITYThe MOST underrated aspect of this speaker. You could take it and hang it anywhere.CHARGING & BATTERY LIFEAbout 4 to 4.5 hours to charge fully. At around 60% volume, SRS XB-100 lasts for nearly 10 hours, 2 hours less than advertised. At full volume, it lasts nearly 6 hours. But it has no fast charging and the chord provided for charging is very small. These are the only cons I felt.SONY MUSIC CENTRE APPIt just tells you how much battery is left, allow connecting with other Sony speakers for stereo effects and updates the software. It serves no other purpose for this speaker.COMPARED TO OTHER SPEAKERS…….From below 5000 range, only Tribit MaxsoundPlus comes close in XB-100’s audio quality. Tribit XsoundGo is not even as good as the good old Sony SRS-XB13 which got replaced by XB-100. To me, XB-100 sounded better than Tribit Stormbox Micro 2, and even Marshall Willen. XB-100 sounds way better even than Sony’s own 24W speaker SRS XE-200.Don’t fall for the gimmick of speakers with more wattage. 1 watt means that speaker can produce maximum 87dB sound within 1 m distance. Whereas as a 20W speaker could produce only 97dB sound within 1 m distance. For comparison, train horns are blown at 90dB. Any sound above 90dB could cause earache and permanently damage hearing. Nobody plays songs and videos at that sound. As the distance increases beyond 1 m, loudness also decreases. So unless you are not looking for a party speaker or something for an outdoor gathering, a speaker below 10W is sufficient. I am NOT talking here about how loud a speaker can get. There is no point in getting a speaker that is just earblastingly loud but lacks any clarity of sound. So yeah. I am completely satisfied with this one. Try it; you too might be.

This is a very bad speaker, the audio quality is very poor.Even audio of a phone is louder than the speaker. Buying it from amazon is totally a waste of money, as they won’t assist you to return or replace the product. They will ask you to wait and then return date of the product will be closed . Totally a waste of 4000 rupees. Even if you buy the product and do not like the product they will not replace the item.Amazon customer service should be worst rating that you can ever give. No help will be provided by sony company also.

The Little Speaker That Could
My previous portable speaker (vintage 2008) had arrived at death’s door, so I got the Sony as a replacement. The sound quality is rich and impressive. I was surprised by how much bass comes through. It’s a snap to use, and it seems like just the right size. It fills the living room, or my car, with whatever I’m listening to. So far, the battery life has been nothing short of amazing (coming off a 15-year-old predecessor, I shouldn’t be surprised). While the volume the Sony generates is perfect for my apartment, a space the size of a classroom is just beyond its abilities. Yes, my students can hear whatever song I play at circle time, but the sound is softer than I’d like in that setting; if the equipment lets me down at all, it’s here. That said, there’s a limit to what one can ask of a speaker smaller than a soda can.On the whole, I consider this mighty mite to have been money well-spent.

Cute, compact, great sound
Love the color I got (coral pink), and the sound quality is great. Battery life lasts a while too. Easily connected to my phone via Bluetooth. Perfect for the home, beach, garden, wherever!

Nice lil speaker
Good lil speaker. Not the best of course but definitely decent for the price. Works great for what I bought it for in my bathroom when I’m in the shower. Will use it for my backpacking/camping trips too cause it is light weight and small. I have had it for a while now and it seems to have a good battery life too. I only have to charge it about once a month but I also only use it for about 30-45 min a day for getting my shower and getting ready for work. Connected very easy to my iPhone too.
