Things that stress out this widowed single mom: high fructose corn syrup, intrusive thoughts about my son getting swept up by a tornado, and the sexiest hockey player to grace this planet.
Oh, and the fact that I’m also said hockey player’s physical therapist. But we’ll lock that tidbit away in the same nightstand as my battery-operated toys.
Moving my son and me across the country to live with my three best friends and our seven children into one dilapidated Boston brownstone should have been the biggest risk I’ve ever taken–not figuring out how to protect my heart, career, and panties while trying to navigate my secret double life.
But Rowan ‘Slick’ Parker is nothing if not hell-bent on taking slapshots at my comfort zone. The more I try to keep things professional, the more he works to break the rules with his charming grin, piercing gaze, and world-class rear end.
Not to mention, he adores my son.
So, I finally give in.
Don’t worry, though, it’s all temporary–a way for us to get each other out of our systems.
But little do I know, ‘temporary’ has a way of leaving lasting impressions on the heart.

This was the toughest of three books for me, the reason? It took me a while to adjust to Shayla’s way of living. What I absolutely loved? ROWAN for her. The perfect opposite attracts situation. A bit of secret/ forbidden romance and him treating her like a man should made this book a perfect and fun read for me.

Loved it!
❤️? This is the 3th book in The Momcoms series ?❤️Shayla is another member of the original ,,single mum and their children pact” living together in the brownstone. She tries to control everything about her and her son Kai life- food, drinks, activities- everything to keep them safe and not expose to dangerous effects. It’s her way she copes with loss of her late husband. But now she lives together in one building with Mr. Beckettm her friend Livy’shusband who likes to play the matchmaker. And he has a perfect partner for Shayla.Shayla may seen as a shy, always stressed woman in previous books, but actually she is a regular woman/mother, who is not perfect, makes mistakes and with the help of her frineds, who absolutly respect her decisions, she reliase she can’t keep Kai on steril buble and she has to alove him to be a kid. She can be pretty feisty in her own bedroom.Destiny and Beckett make their magic and she stands in the dressing-hockey-room, trying to help a sexy hockeyplayer Rowan to play again.Rowan has to play little dirty if he wants to be with Shayla and convince her he can be the right man for her and her boy. He alone didn’t have the right father-model, but just being him he makes great with Kai. The best waz to win a woman’s heart is to make her kid and smile.Well he can makes Shayla ,,happy” and satisfied in bedroom too ???️.I enjoyed their banter (mainly about the adults toys, the names were funny too :D) the tension grew everytime they were in one room more and more between these two, and ones they did give up there was ??? everywhere.Kids didn’t dissapoint again and they made the story gaily.I am looking forward to read the last one book and I expect an epic end.

“ The man has a tenacity for catching me staring at him like he’s a gluten-free, high-fiber protein bar I’d like to sink my teeth into. “Shay is a widowed single mom after losing her husband from cancer. This leaves her a little traumatized and scared of mostly everything. She keeps her son, Kai, extra close by having him home schooled, making him clean and natural meals and not allowing him to do any extracurricular activities that could be viewed as dangerous. This gets a little difficult when Kai shows interest in hockey and begs his mom to let him play.“ Rowan ‘Slick’ Parker isn’t just a hockey player to my son; he’s a god amongst men. “Around that time, Shay is voluntold to treat a hockey player who was hurt during the game that she was watching. The chemistry with Rowan was instant but Shay quickly puts up her walls.Rowan is injured and the only way he will accept treatment is if Shay is his physical therapist. I love how he pursues her and naturally bonds with Kai. He realizes quickly that Shay is different from anyone he has met and he is determined to be in her life. This read is so healing while having the ability of sending me into straight crackles with their shenanigans. Rowan is able to help Shay realize that some things are worth the risk and she see her start to loosen the reins a bit while she leans on her love ones for support. As always I loved catching up with the other characters and the support that the mom tribe gives each other is amazing. Their talks, their book club meetings and watching the kids thrive in their new dynamic was so special to see.

Shay and Slick
This was Shayla’s story and I did feel exasperated by her early on in this book but I loved the developing relationship between her and Rowan, a younger ice hockey star. Shay certainly went through some character development in this book!

aargh! LOVE!
As a mum I can only imagine the fear that comes from losing someone you love and scared your babies and loved ones will be next without warning.I love the growth of Shayla. And Rowan is just hot!

Way to ducking go, Shay!
One of the fun things about this mom commune series, besides the wonderful world/characters that is the Boston Brownstone, is being introduced to new authors for me. This was my first book by Swati MH and I generally enjoyed it so I’m interested in reading some of her other books. :)I was happy to read Shay’s/Pipsqueak’s story. She hasn’t been my favorite mom character in general, but she’s definitely moved up. It was great to learn more about her past and see her bloom into a different/more balanced version of herself. We learn she was a spirited, brave, wild child when in college but somewhere along the line lost herself when she married her husband. She was hit with a doozy when he was diagnosed with cancer and passed away. She channeled this hurt/pain and big feelings into hover parenting and health/organic foods obsession. She’s closed herself off to the idea of love and the gal she used to be. She does decide to make changes and grow on her own, but meeting the right man (Rowan) definitely gives her a swift kick in the toosh.Rowan is quite a guy. He’s definitely a giant softy who was in it for Shay at first glance. He brought out some great aspects of her being and I also thought it was amazing that while helping her find balance, he still took the time to embrace and understand her quirks. He’s generally a thoughtful guy and I loved the dedication that he immediately put into his relationship with both Shay and her son Kai.This was the third book in an interconnected series. Each mom is written by a different author. Something about this one felt slightly disconnected. This may have to deal with seeing how the other characters are viewed from a different lens. Which is cool, but I think I got hung up on a couple things. Like Beckett definitely was meddling (I think I have an idea about what the overarching plan might be there lol) but definitely didn’t seem as bad as in the second book or over the top. The kids in general got to be a part of the story, but outside of Kai, sort of felt like a bit of a blip and like it didn’t flow. I also thought Liv was the head of PR for the Langfield teams so there was a plot occurrence that came up and she didn’t seem to have any idea about it which seemed rather odd to me, unless I’m not remembering something correctly. Those things aside, this was still a great book in the series! Good spice, banter, and lots of laughs.
